Pupaid 2014 – join in on 6th September
One week to go before Poppy & Rufus set up our stand and appear at PupAid on Saturday September 6th in London’s Primrose Hill Park. As well as being a really fun Dog Show, with some hilarious categories to enter your potential star dogs into, celebrities attending and some fantastic high-end trade stalls to shop at, this free to enter, fund-raising event has done incredibly well in the six years it has been running to raise awareness of horrific puppy-farming practices and make serious progress in bringing it to a halt.
Last year an e-petition signed by 110,000 people has led to the issue being debated in Parliament this September 4th, two days before PupAid takes place, asking MP’s to put an end to cruel puppy farming once and for all. You can sign and send off a draft letter by visiting www.pupaid.org in time for next week’s debate.
We were invited to take up a stand by Marc Abraham, who we met at Crufts this year.
Vet Marc launched his campaign 6 years ago after coming across a worrying number of very sick puppies and doing his own under-cover investigation. Wanting to tackle the problem by raising awareness and so helping people choose puppies from responsible breeders, he set up his first event and soon had the backing of celebrities such as Meg Matthews (patron), Liam Gallagher, Ricky Gervais, Brian May and Peter Egan. Since then, support has grown and if we can do our bit to help his worthy cause, we will be very proud to do so.
Please contact your MP through their link and come along to support us for a really Fun Day Out if you’re in London on September 6th.
